Epic Epics of Epic Proportions; Or, How to Be Epic Without Really Trying...Err, We Mean By Trying Really Hard

Hellooooooo fellow fangirls and fanboys....sorry we've been away for awhile but you know - life!

So it has come to pass that the fangirls have been going through many mysterious and epic changes the past year...

We are both adulting at maximum velocity, without too much complaining...

And is that the faint, pungent stench of l'amour in the air?? No wayyyyyyyy....ok well maybe! So what!???!!!?? Who cares!! Anyway SHHHH it's a secret. 

The MOST important thing though, the thing that we know you actually care about...

Is that the fangirls got EVEN GEEKIER in the last year!!!!

We KNOW!!!! How could this possibly be TRUE!?

Everyone said it couldn't be done! Seriously, how could two dorky mcgeekerton's like the fangirls get even geekier?!? Impossible. 

But we HAVE friends - and this is how we did it.

Step 1 - Join a Geeky Club.

One of the fangirls has managed to get tangled up in a space club in which she is learning the intricacies of the universe. It's good to meet new geek friends, and also as we all learned while traveling to and from band/theater/art in high school - SAFETY IN NUMBERS PEOPLE! Mostly so she can be a passable ships navigator when the Millennium Falcon and/or Serenity finally comes to pick her up.

(Because galley duty is for CHUMPS yo....and she's way too blind to be an effective gunner.)
  

Step 2 - Become a Geek Role-model to Area Youth.

Like, she's been doing this for years but at this point it's on a massive scale. Oh yeah, if there is one way to be the ultimate nerd it's to TEACH THE CHILDREN THE WAYS OF THE FORCE. So basically she's Yoda. Or Qui-Gon Jinn. But not Obi Wan because, well, you know how that turned out.

 

Step 3 - Appear in a Comic Book.

YES!!! THIS HAPPENED!!!!! It was in the letters section, she wasn't turned into a character or anything (swoon! can you imagine!?) but still....how cool is that? 

Step 4 - Expand Your Geek Repertoire.

Seriously, it's great to be devoted to your particular fandom, but there is SO MUCH GOOD STUFF out there - old things you maybe missed, things from abroad that are just being released here, new things coming out via all the indie outlets. There is so much to enjoy, get out there and give it a look! Variety is the spice of life! And that includes documentaries and stuff dudes!!!

I didn't know if it was time...?

So it's been over 30 days and I didn't know if there was a limit or not, so sorry if this isn't the time. 

But of all the things I've wanted to say or tell you or share with you and haven't been able to convey, I thought this was worthy.... 

So I made a little egg salad (egg, avocado, and a little bit o' mayo).  I had some chicken strips left over so I chopped them up and toasted them. (Technically I fried them, but didn't use grease and only low heated it to warm it up).  Then, oh shit friend, then I buttered two slices of bread and grilled one side each.  Smash it all together and it's possibly the best god damn sandwich ever!!!!!!!!!!!

I know how much you love (or used to love) my chicken egg salad so I wanted to share.  

Also, I miss you in my heart and soul.

What up, nerds?  It's been a hell of a week.

I know the nerds here at Fables do our best to keep our head in the fandoms and our social media out of politics. 

So this is no different.

I would like to think of this as a public service announcement or an after school special. 

Please, please, please be aware of all the feels that are happening out in the world right now. 

Please, Please, Please be aware that every time, EVERY TIME, you share, forward, like, or look at anything that is negative or awful or ugly then you are perpetuating the negative vibes.

Even if you share, Tweet, Instagram, Snapchat, Tumblr, YouTube, or all the other ways you can put something on the internet with the BEST of intentions. you are still spreading the negative vibes. 

Let us, the nerds, the geeks, the fangirls, the fanboys, the dorks, rise up and only put forth happy thoughts and good energy!

Let's remember all the things we still have that is going to be awesome:

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them - not exactly Harry Potter, but it's an association that true believers are grateful for. 

A new Star Wars - The other nerd will have more to say about this one, but I saw the trailer and it looks amazaballs!

Sherlock Season 4 - This fangirl CAN NOT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The plethora of Marvel movies still to come - p.s. Go see Doctor Strange cause it was fantastic AND now that Benedict is in the Marvel realm, we are that much closer to getting HiddlesBatch!!!!! (Yes, I'm aware they've been in the same movie before, but can't we see them make out already....?  Geez)

Original stuff made by Netflix, Hulu, and Prime - you know they be makin good shit you just gotta binge watch.

Oh, and let's never forget that nerds and fangirls have the best support group ever.... Each other!

That's right.  Fables For Fangirls loves everyone as we are all simply human.  Until the Doctor finally shows up, takes our hand, and says

Spread the love Nerds, not the hate. 

Moving on....

So Nerds, it's been a year in Mayberry and it's time to move on.

This girl was not made for a small town. I need lights and a little hustle and a little bustle.

And, well, new adventures!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Going to venture into the world of Teens. 

I know, I'm crazy, but it's something new and different and a challenge.  And understanding what I'm walking into makes it seem less scary....

I'll be closer to my Mainer friends, which is super exciting!!!!!!!!!!!

And closer to the ocean, which is good for my soul.

Looking forward to my NH adventure!!!!

I'm sorry if I sounded harsh, bro.

I think it's easy for both of us to forget that when one of us is down and the other is up, encouragement doesn't always work to get the other out of a funk.

I don't want you to think that I'm mad at you for trying to bring up my spirits.  Maybe my first reaction wasn't awesome, but I KNOW you're just concerned and trying to help out.

AND I LOVE YOU FOR THAT!

I don't think you've ever seen me in a funk before.  At least one not this bad.  Me being able to reach out to you has been fucking awesome and part of why I haven't fallen deeper into the rabbit hole of darkness.

I just don't want you to think that everytime you reach out your hand, you'll pull back a bloody stump.  Cause if you stop reaching, I slowly stop believing I have anything to hold on for.

Holy Fuck that sounds so fucking dramatic.

I just mean, thank you for loving me and making me feel loved and if I snap at you when you're making awesome suggestions to try to make my life better, don't get mad or upset.  Okay?  Just remember what's it like to be in a funk and have someone tell you how to get out of it.  I know you didn't want to hear it when our roles were reversed.
